Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology (M.S.)

Application requirements:​​

  • General test GRE scores are not required. Subject test is not required.

  • Statement of Purpose is not required.

  • Application materials needed include:

    • ​Résumé

  • A Research Interest Statement is required:

    • ​What would you like to study in graduate school and how does research in the Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) Department align with your scientific interests? What are your academic and career goals? Limit your answer to one page.

  • A Statement of Previous Research is required:

    • Please describe your research experience: describe the motivations behind one (or more) of your research projects, including experimental tests of theories or hypotheses. What have you learned from this experience? It is more important that you address the points above for one project in depth, rather than to provide a comprehensive list of all of your research experiences. In any case, limit your statement to one page.

  • A Faculty Sponsor Letter is required:

    • The MCDB program will only admit Masters students who have secured a faculty sponsor from MCD Biology. The faculty member must write a short letter of sponsorship on university letterhead which should be uploaded in the application. 

  • A Personal History Statement is also required:

    • Describe any educational, familial, health, cultural, economic, or social challenges you may have faced. Limit your statement to one page.
